Köfte

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb, onion, garlic, parsley, egg, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix well to combine.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls or oblong shapes.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the köfte and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Serve hot with rice or pide (Turkish bread) and a side salad.
